ქართულად ვიტყვი მოკლედ. საქართველოშიც კი გახშირდა ქალის სიკვდილი ძალადობის შედეგად. 15წლის გოგომ მოკლა თავის ქმარი ძალადობისაგან თავდაცვის მიზნით. 37 წლის ქალი და 19 წლის გოგო მამაკაცმა მოკლა; ჯერ სხეული დაასახიჩრა, შემდგომ სამხილის მოსასპობად დაწვა სახლი. ელენე ძმამ მეხუთე სართულიდან გადმოაგდო.
არასამთავრობო ორგანიზაცია “Helping Hand” საქართველოში ქალის ფონდის ფინანსური მხარდაჭერით აწყობს 5 კილომეტრიან მარათონს ქალის მიმართ ძალადობის საწინააღმდეგოდ.

A 15 year old girl kills her husband to defend herself from abuse and violence. On D. Agmashenebelis Avenue a 37 year old women and a 19 years old girl were killed by a man; first he insulted and wounded their bodies; then to destroy all the evidence he set the house on fire. Elena was killed and thrown from the fifth floor by herbrother. . .
All the terrible facts mentioned above were provoked from men’s violence and happened in a month. The non-profit organization “Helping Hand” is protesting all kinds of violence against women and with financial support from the “Women’s Fund in Georgia” is going to hold a 5k Run/Walk for the Prevention of Violence Against Women.
5K Run/ Walk will be held on 5 December at 12:00 noon; at the Hippodrome, Tamarashvili Street 13; Winners, best male and best female, will receive a trophy;during the day from 11:00 a. m until 13:30 p. m at the hippodrome main entrance there will be educational booths and an informational area including flyers to educate people about women’s rights and gender equality.
The Aim of the Campaign is to educate the public about the violence that happened last month in Tbilisi and it’s also happening quite often in Georgia; our goal is to increase knowledge about women’s rights and to create an atmosphere where all kinds of violence against women will be shameful and unacceptable. This event will give us an opportunity to remind potential violators thatviolence against women is a crime andwill be punished. It will also encourage women to unite to end violence against women and girls.
Non-profit organizations, the government sector, students from different universities and schools, and the Georgian Girls Running Club are attending and will participate in the 5k Run/Walk. Everyone in the community is also invited to attend this event.
5K Run/Walk for the Prevention of Violence Against Women is organized by the NGO “Helping Hand” and supported by the Women’s Fund. The event will be dedicated to the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women declared by the United Nations General Assembly.
